Pediatric Dentistry FAQ
-
Establishing healthy dental habits early is one of the best investments you can make in your child's long-term oral health. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children visit a dentist by their first birthday or within six months of their first tooth erupting.
At Jaclyn Martinez DDS, Dr. Jaclyn Martinez enjoys caring for children of all ages and is committed to making every visit a positive experience. Our friendly team works to create a welcoming, low-stress environment where children feel comfortable while developing confidence in visiting the dentist.
Regular dental visits allow us to monitor your child's oral development, prevent dental problems before they become more serious, and help establish healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
-
Every child's visit is tailored to their age, comfort level, and individual needs.
Depending on your child's age and stage of development, an appointment may include:
A gentle dental examination
Professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar
Fluoride treatment to help strengthen enamel
Dental sealants to protect newly erupted permanent molars, when appropriate
Digital X-rays when needed to evaluate developing teeth and detect problems not visible during a clinical examination
Dr. Martinez also evaluates your child's growth, bite, and oral development at each visit, allowing potential concerns to be identified and addressed as early as possible.
-
As children grow, their teeth and jaws are constantly changing. Regular dental examinations allow Dr. Martinez to monitor tooth eruption, jaw development, and bite alignment throughout childhood and adolescence.
When orthodontic treatment is appropriate, Dr. Martinez provides comprehensive orthodontic care, including Invisalign® clear aligners and traditional braces, allowing many patients to receive both their routine dental care and orthodontic treatment in one convenient practice.
By monitoring growth early, developing orthodontic concerns can often be identified before they become more complex.
We look forward to partnering with your family to help your child enjoy a lifetime of healthy smiles. Contact Jaclyn Martinez DDS to schedule your child's next dental visit.
